| Lady Lions roar past the competition at
the Spartan Classic |

Girls Summary
The Lafayette Lady Lions repeated their performance of November 22nd at
Dutchtown by winning the Spartan Classic. The Lady Lions outscored
runner-up East Ascension 121 to 96. Chalmette was third with 90.5 points,
followed by Baton Rouge and Walker, both with 79 points.

Willow Dixon (WLK) pinned Haylee Johnson (LAF) in 1:45 |

| Miss Dixon claimed her
fourth tournament title of the season, and only has the one loss to St.
Amant's Mikayla Byington against 14 wins. Miss Johnson's runner-up
finish is one better than her third-place showing at the Griffin Open.
Dixon was the one who put her in the consolation brackets at Dutchtown.
Johnson has her two losses to Dixon and one to East Ascension's Anjelah
Jackson, at 107 lbs., to go with seven wins. |
107 Pounds
Mikayla Byington (StA) pinned Layla Higgins (RIV) in 1:12 |

| Miss Byington remained a
perfect 11-0 after winning her second tournament of the season.
She handed Miss Higgins her first loss after 11 wins, which include
championships at the Swamp Owl 8ish and the Riverdale Round-Robin. |

Lilly Johnson (DUT) defeated Kaylee Batchelor (SBG) 12-1 MD |

| Miss Johnson improved to
10-0 and won her third tournament of the season. Miss Batchelor
had no blemishes on her 11-0 record before the Spartan Finals. She
won the Brusly 8ish and the Haughton Lady Tournament. |

MacKenzie Thomas (WLK) pinned Bevin Verret (CLF) in 1:26 |

| Miss Thomas won her second
tournament of the season to go with her third-place finish at the
Griffin Open. This was only Miss Verret's third loss of the season
against nine wins, and second-place finishes at the Reservation Rumble
and the Griffin Open. |

Quetzicalli Guevera-Tapia (LAF) pinned Alyssa Hyde (RIV) in 1:40 |

| Miss Guevera-Tapia is now 14-0 with three
tournaments to her credit. Miss Hyde was 12-0 prior to her match
with the Lady Lion, and won the Swamp Owl 8ish and the Riverdale
Round-Robin. |

Laken Griffin (LO) pinned Zaysea Dubois (NV) in 3:40 |

| Miss Griffin improved her record to 13-0 and
won her third title of the season. The Spartan Classic was Miss
Dubois' first event of the season and she dominated her first three
opponents in falls of 0:56, 4:21 and an 8-0 major decision. |

Isabella Guillory (EA) pinned Nayeli Erazo (WLK) 20-4 TF |

| Miss Guillory remained undefeated. Her
12-0 record includes championships at the Swamp Owl 8ish, the Griffin
Open and now the Spartan Classic. Miss Erazo, the Walker
Invitational Outstanding Wrestler, is 1-3 in finals matches, and all
three of those losses were to Guillory. No other opponents have
come close to beating her. |

Savannah Camarata (ALB) defeated Sarah Cervenka (SBG) 16-5 MD |

| Miss Camarata also remained undefeated after
the Spartan Classic. The Lady Hornet is 15-0 and has won five
tournaments, and was voted the OW in this one. Miss Cervenka is
another young lady who lost her first match of the season in the Spartan
finals. The Golden Dame Cervenka brought an 11-0 mark into the
finals and has generally just abused her competition on the mats. |
152 Pounds
Elizabeth Townsend (OG) pinned Jonnika Pitts (BR) in 3:39 |

| The 152 lbs. weight class happened, assuredly,
but it was run as a round-robin event and was not a part of the finals.
Miss Townsend is undefeated in Louisiana this year at 12-0,. She
won the Kickoff at the Corral and placed fifth at the Gulf Coast Clash.
In her first event of the season Miss Pitts scored falls in 0:44, 1:25
and 0:30 before losing to Townsend. |

| Miss Hutto is now 7-0 with wins at the Spartan
and the Cougar Clash. Miss Cullen scored three first period falls
before her finals match with Hutto. |

Iranie Harrison (BRU) pinned Jenelle Rotunda (CHL) in 5:04 |

|
| With only seven matches under her belt, the
Lady Panther Harrison has three tournament titles to her credit, as well
as one OW award. Miss Rotunda's only losses in her 11-2 season
have been to Harrison. Those losses were in the finals of the
Swamp Owl 8ish and now the Spartan. |
235 Pounds
Gabrielle Anthony (ZAC) pinned Mattea Delaney (GO) in 1:27 |

| In Miss Anthony's nine matches, only one, that
being the Spartan Classic finals, did not end via a fall within the
first minute. That match finished in under two minutes, though.
Miss Delaney is having a fine season so far. She is 6-2 with her
losses coming from a defending state champion (Iranie Harrison) and a
seasoned East Ascension veteran. |
