The St. Amant Gators placed fourth or better in 10 weight classes, including two champions and one runner-up, as they eclipsed the field scoring 203 points, 29 points higher than the team runner-up, the host Dutchtown Griffins.  It was a good day for District 5-5A.  Both St. Amant and Dutchtown are in that district, as is East Ascension, Walker and Live Oak, which placed fourth through sixth.  Holy Cross stopped a 5-5A romp with a third-place finish.

113 Pounds Aiden Thai (DUT) pinned Ian Keller (EA) in 2:30

120 Pounds Vincent Morvant (LAF) defeated Brock Breaux (HC) 12-9

Morvant ran his record to 11-0 in winning his second tournament of the year (Brusly 8ish).

126 Pounds Noah Hyatt (DUT) pinned Drake Hinojoza (StA) in 0:23

Hyatt improved his record to 7-1 with his only loss coming from Jesuit's three-time state runner-up Michael Barnett in the Warrior Open finals.

132 Pounds Landon Upton (CNT) pinned Todd Brewer (PIC) in 5:56

Upton is now 9-1 with wins at the Griffin and the Rumble on the River.

138 Pounds Alex Amedee (EA) defeated Dylan Eppinett (DUT) 20-11 MD

The Spartan senior added a championship to this runner-up finish at the Warrior and a third-place spot in the Walker.

150 Pounds Robert Morse (HC) defeated Jackson Ellis (CNT) 22-5 TF.

Morse ran his record to 11-0 with a second decision over Ellis in a finals match.

157 Pounds Thomas Abington (StA) defeated Ethan Pickens (PIC) 19-3 TF

The Gator junior won his first tournament of the season and ran his record to 10-0.

165 Pounds Braydon Stewart (EA) pinned Jason Estopinal (NRS) in 0:34

The defending Division I state champion Stewart won his second tournament and ran his record to 10-0.

175 Pounds Rylee Reeves (HC) defeated Wade Kersten 14-3 MD

Reeves added a Griffin title to his Warrior and Walker ones, running his record to 11-0.

190 Pounds Kent Pearson (StA) pinned Hunter Brooks (WLK) in 1:50

This was Pearson's first event of the season, and he pinned his three opponents in an average time of 1:40.

215 Pounds Billy Edmonston (LO) defeated Josiah Stewart (DUT) 19-7 MD

Edmonston is 5-0 with a Griffin title and Outstanding Wrestler award.

285 Pounds Chris Godso (WLK) pinned Landon Kelley (LO) in 2:08.

Godso is 12-0 with title at the Griffin and the Walker.  No photos of the second period of his finals match exist because Godso only used eight-seconds of the period.
