I think I can safely say Ethan Boudreaux is easy. Forty-three times
other wrestlers certainly could not say the same. He might even be easier
if I just listed the tournaments he did not win, but at least I do not have to
divide them into how he placed. The Tiger Invitational, the Gulf Coast
Clash, the Riot on the Red, the Jacob McMillan, the Brusly Division II, the
Louisiana Classic, the Ken Cole and his third Division II state title after a
runner-up finish in his freshman year. He defeated his nemesis from last
season, Southside's Wiley Boudreaux (D1 1st) three times. He beat Sam
Houston's Caleb Lavine (D2 3rd), Brother Martin's Ty Duncan (D1 4th) four times,
Catholic's Christian Worley (D1 2nd) and Belle Chasse's Caleb Andrews twice via
falls. He deservedly was recognized as the Division II Outstanding
Wrestler after winning his first three matches with first-round falls and then a
13-1 MD in the finals.
Belle Chasse's Caleb Andrews lost to only Division I wrestlers aside from his
matches against Boudreaux. All but two placed in the top-six of Division
I, and one of the two did not compete in the state championships. As a
sixth-seed in 2021 Andrews made it to the Division II finals match. Last
year he was seeded and placed fourth, but this season he was seeded second and
pinned his way into the finals. He looked pretty happy standing just below
the champion, again.
