The 120 lbs. weight class was ridiculously hard. It had the 2022 106 lbs.
Division I finalists Tyson Roach of Sam Houston and Bodi Harris of Jesuit.
It had Cole Mire of Dutchtown, the 120 lbs. Division I runner-up, and Kye
Karcher, who placed sixth in Division I for Walker. Just for good measure, throw in
Division II third-place winner Blake Andre of Shaw.
Roach and Harris ended up in the finals, and it was much more competitive
than the 16-4 Division I state finals match, won by Roach. Roach won this
match with a 5-0 second period. Each wrestler scored four points in the
last period, which included a penalty point for one and a misconduct point for
the other, so the match closer than last February and a tad hotly contested.
We should see another match or two between these two.
