Another wrestler who escaped the Spartan Invitational with an unmarred season was Baton Rouge's Eli Latilois. But "escaped" is a key word. His finals opponent, Walker senior Gabriel Milbern, built a 7-1 first-period lead before Latilois reversed him to a fall in 2:35. Latilois also has a Brusly 8 title, and, after the Spartan, an 8-0 record. Milbern is 10-2 with Warrior Open and Lakeshore Open titles.
Royal Lazard of Comeaux placed third, the hard way, in a 3-1 UTB match over Lafayette's William Perry.
