The Bonnabel Bruins are looking for a new wrestling coach, as Mike Lachney, who revived the program in 2015, has taken the job at Lakeshore High School in Mandeville.  Bonnabel is one of the most storied programs in Louisiana wrestling history, having won a Division I state championship in 1988 and the Division I runner-up spot in 1980.  Thirteen Bonnabel wrestlers have won 15 Division I state championships and 13 have placed as runners-up.

This year's team will be led by senior Sergio Maldonado, who placed third in the Division I 106 lbs. weight class and posted a 45-8 record last season.

Sergio Maldonado pins Brother Martin's Chase Scott in the 2019 106 lbs. third-place match Maldonado on the podium in 2019

Interested parties should have varsity wrestling coaching experience, and should contact the principal, Adam Lanford, at adam.lanford@jppss.k12.la.us or apply on-line at https://www.applitrack.com/jppss/onlineapp/
