Small Louisiana team enters Fargo Junior Nationals

A very small team of Louisiana wrestlers are headed toward the U.S.M.C. 2019 Junior Nation Championships in Fargo, North Dakota this week.  The event will start with Greco-Roman tournaments for Cadet, Juniors and girls and end with freestyle tournaments for the same athletes.

Four boys will represent Louisiana.  The are two-time defending Division I state champion Trent Mahoney of East Ascension High School, 2018 Division II state champion Camdyn Ingram, formerly of Live Oak High School, Division I 2018 and 2019 runner-up Peyton Bass of Airline and 2019 Division II runner-up Jacob Ramirez of Rummel.  C.E. Byrd's Kylie Davis will compete for Arkansas in the girls' events.

Pat Mahoney of East Ascension will be one of the coaches attending.

Camdyn Ingram was the second-ranked wrestler on the 2018 Cadet National Greco-Roman team at 152 pounds.

The freestyle events will start on Sunday, July 14th, and finish on Wednesday, July 17th.  The Greco-Roman events  (boys only) start on Wednesday, July 17th and end on Friday, July 19th.
