Twelve of the XXX24XXX entrants at 106 pounds were freshman, hence the odds favored at
least one ninth-grader in the finals. Instead, there were two. One,
Evan Frost of Holy Cross, was undefeated with 21-0 record. His opponent
was Shaw Freshman Glenn Price, who brought a 34-5 record to the tournament.
In four of his matches Price lost only once by more than one point, and that was
a two-point loss to Jesuit senior Sam Dreuil. The other loss was to Frost
at the Shaw-Holy Cross dual meet, won by Frost via a 14-2 Major Decision.
Frost beat Price with another Major Decision in the finals, this time 15-3.
Look for Frost to be a #1-seed in Division II, while Price should be the #1 seed
in Division II.
