| 2018 USMC/USAW Fargo Nationals Junior Freestyle - Only Sam Dreuil remains for Monday |

As of 8:45 only Sam Dreuil remains in the Junior freestyle competition at the 2018 USMC/USAW Nationals. Due to a weight class with only 38 participants, times between matches in the 106 lbs. weight class are much longer than most other weight classes, some of which approach 128 entrants. Dreuil lost his first match 12-2 to S. Nash of Illinois and will next compete in match # 5871 against E. Cyr of Connecticut on Monday.
Basile's Gavin Christ at 132 lbs. went deeper into the championship round than any other Team Louisiana member, winning two matches before losing to Michigan's E. Homrock 13-7. His two wins in the championship round placed him fairly deep into the consolations bracket, and he fell in his first match 6-0 to I Wortham of Ohio. Joshua Sarpy and Richard Mack of North Desoto High School were the only other Team Louisiana juniors to notch victories before being eliminated from the competition.
Nine Junior-class Louisiana wrestlers participated in the 2018 Fargo National Championships, held at Fargo, North Dakota's FargoDome between July 14th and 20th. Brian Barry, Dustin Burton, John Kent, Matt Pinero and Rick Zimmer are the coaches for Team Louisiana. The Junior competition started on Sunday, July 15th.
