Lone Survivor

In the 2016 Riot on the Red tournament, held on December 3rd, Division II's Parkway showed dominance in Northwest Louisiana with a 24-point win over Division I's Airline.  A week later at the Evangel Eagle Open, it was Airline taking home the team trophy, with Parkway 45 points in arrears.

After the first day of pool competition in the Lone Survivor, held at Parkway this weekend, the two teams are tied at 96.5 points each.  Their closest competitor is Barbe, which is 36 points behind the two front-runners.

As far as seeding for the championship bracket to be contested on Saturday, Parkway, on paper at least, has the edge.  The Panthers have seven #1 seeds and two #2 seeds.  The Vikings have three #1 seeds and two #2 seeds.

Greg LaVergne Lafayette Parish Duals

After the first three rounds of the Greg LaVergne Lafayette Duals, held at Carencro High School, both Comeaux and Lafayette are undefeated at 3-0.  The match of the first day, however, was the Comeaux-Teurlings Catholic one, which was won by the Spartans 37-36.

Also on tap this weekend is the Brusly Division III tournament, the District 6-5A championships at Lakeshore High School in Mandeville, the Cardinal Duals in Belle Chasse and the St. Amant Duals at East Ascension.
