Last year John Ehret's Jack Fontenot lost the Ken Cole championship by a
point to Brother Martin's Mason Williams. This year though, as the top
seed, nobody was going to deny him the first major title of his career. In
a season plagued with ankle injuries the Patriot faced a game finals opponent in
defending Division II state champion Zach Funderburk of Parkway, but Fontenot
had the upper hand through the entirety of his 5-3 win.
